The Story of 甘強酒造

Kankyo Shuzo was founded in 1862 by Heihachi Yamada as a mirin brewery in Kanie, Aichi. Reorganized as a company in 1935, it began brewing seishu under the label Shitennou in 1954, and in 1999 became the first producer in Japan to earn organic certification for both sake and mirin. More than 150 years after its founding, mirin remains the core of the business, alongside sake, shochu, liqueurs and seasonings, all made under ISO 22000 certification and Science Based Targets (SBT) commitments.
