At the foot of sacred Mt. Ishizuchi, a house descended from the keepers of the village rice-storehouse keys.
Seiryo Shuzo was founded in 1877 in Saijo, Ehime, though its predecessor, the Kagiya family, had held the keys to the local villages' rice storehouses since the Edo period. The brewery draws natural groundwater from sacred Mt. Ishizuchi and uses rice grown locally in Saijo, aging its sake at low temperatures to develop flavor for the table. Its guiding idea is that sake is made with dream and heart.
