The Story of 東日本酒造協業組合

Higashi Nihon Shuzo, formed as a brewing cooperative in Nihonmatsu, Fukushima in 1945, is said to trace its brewing roots to a predecessor dating from 1716. Its flagship label, Okunomatsu, has won gold at Japan's National New Sake Awards 23 times in 25 years, including 14 consecutive years — a rare feat of consistency. The house's Adatara Ginjo went further still, taking the Champion Sake title (best in the sake category) at the International Wine Challenge in 2018.
