Named for a river's old name, this Tenei brewery's toji has won national gold ten years running — and poured for the 2023 G7 Hiroshima summit dinner.
Matsuzaki Shuzo was founded in 1892 in Tenei village, Fukushima. Its label, Hirotogawa, takes its name from the old name of the nearby Shakadogawa river. Since toji Yukiyuki Matsuzaki took the helm in 2012, the kura has won gold at the National New Sake Awards for ten consecutive years, and in 2023 its sake was selected to accompany the dinner at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.
