Since 1865 — 大洗町, Ibaraki
An Oarai brewery renamed for the harvest moon, brewing without temperature control to let terroir speak.
Tsukinoi Shuzoten was founded in 1865 under the name Matsumaeya in Isohama, Oarai, Ibaraki, later renamed Tsukinoi ('well of the moon') for the harvest moon of mid-autumn. The brewery has continued in Oarai for more than 150 years, taking a terroir-first approach that avoids temperature-controlled fermentation and pre-set flavor design in favor of letting the season and ingredients shape each batch.
