Takasago and Ogai — Tsuwano's oldest kura, with an Edo-era brewing museum.
Zaima Sakaba, founded in 1791, is among the oldest surviving breweries in the castle town of Tsuwano, Shimane. It brews Takasago from locally grown Sakanishiki rice, and Ogai — named for the novelist Mori Ogai, Tsuwano's most famous son. Its old kura is open to the public as the Takasago Sake Brewery Museum, displaying Edo-period brewing tools from great cauldrons to stone pressing boats.
