Ohmine
Since 2010 — 美祢市, Yamaguchi
A dormant Yamaguchi kura revived in 2010 at the foot of the Akiyoshidai karst plateau, aiming to be a global premium sake brand.
Ohmine lay dormant for more than fifty years before its 2010 revival at the foot of the Akiyoshidai karst plateau, followed by a new brewery built in 2018. Under the motto "Try new things, find new innovations," the house pursues global premium status through refined bottle design and export-minded branding, brewing its 3grain and 2grain lines with rice varieties from Yamada Nishiki to Okayama's Omachi and Hyogo's Aiyama. Brewing water comes from Benten Spring, drawn from the Akiyoshidai karst, one of Japan's 100 Famous Waters. A cafe and direct sales shop sit alongside the brewery.
